Georgioupolis offers the majority of hotels that are situated between the central road and the beach.
Falasarna is the cleanest beach in west Crete.
Gramvoussa, long a secret spot, accessible by private boat or a long walk, attracts by its turquoise water, lagoons and white sand.
Sougia is a pebbly beach. There are no buildings on the beach so you can feel really close to nature and the views of the coast are superb and uncorrupted.
Paleochora is a village with nice and long beach. There are also a lot of hotels, restaurants and bars here.
Elafonisos is famous for its poppy-red sand.
Hersonissos, located just in the center of north coast, is one of the most popular seasides in Crete with a lot of little but nice sandy and pebbly beaches. A lot of shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs are also here.
